Dr. Shekhar Chatterjee

Dr Shekhar Chatterjee is currently an Assistant Professor of the Design Discipline at the PDPM-Indian Institute of Information Technology Design & Manufacturing Jabalpur, India. He teaches Fundamentals Design courses to undergraduate and postgraduate Design students. He is actively involved in Design Education Research related to Indian Society; his work related to Fashion, Apparel, Accessory and Cultural aspect of Human Behaviour. He was employed at the National Institute of Design, India as an Associate Senior Designer for more than nine years prior to coming to Jabalpur. He taught Design Fundamental courses to the undergraduate and postgraduate design students across various disciplines. There he was engaged in research and consultancy project management, new product development pertaining to different sectors like craft, textile and leather sector. He completed his Masters in Leather Apparel Design from National Institute of Fashion Technology and was awarded for Best Design Collection and Most Innovative Exploration, Commercial Viability for the Year 2001. He did his second Masters in Indian Culture from Gujarat University India. He was awarded a PhD degree in 2017 in Indian Culture (Faculty of Arts) from Gujarat University. He was the recipient of Design Innovation Made in Italy Scholarship, Polytechnic of Milan, Italy 2008. Till date He has published more than 12 journal publications, has visited different countries to present his papers at different national and international conferences.
