Ms. Lubna Saifi

Lubna Saifi has been associated with Textile and Apparel Design as a faculty and Co-discipiline lead since its inception in 2019. She received her Master’s in Apparel Design from NID Ahmedabad in 2012 and studied Fashion design from NIFT Delhi (One Year diploma). An academician with more than 8 years of industrial experience and 5 years of teaching expe- rience at various professional institutes. She is an innovative, creative design professional who provides strong attention to detail, design quality, fashion, and industry practices.

She leads the way in academics with a strong philosophy of teaching, and knowledge of many different methods to motivate students to develop their expertise in specific areas. She is well versed in different areas of design and her forte lies in Research & collection development, print and graphics, professional industry practices, industrial denim washes, craft research and have profound knowledge of designing software’s. She is very passionate about learning and teaching design software’s as CLO, 3ds Max, SketchUp etc. and other generic software’s as illustrator, in design etc to explore endless possibilities in design.

She has worked with some renowned industries as “Arvind Lifestyle Brands Limited” in which she has worked for brands like: Aeropostale, Ruf & Tuf, GAP and for various in-house brands in Both men and women’s categories. Previously worked with Bioworld Merchandising, Ginni International and Weavetex Overseas at different senior positions where she was handling complete process from forecast to final product, production, marketing, collection & stall presentation at differ- ent national and international fairs and handled buyers like Lifestyle, Only, Central and Shoppers Stop etc. She has also worked with some renowned fashion designers as Samanth Chauhan, Geisha Designs by Paras and Shalini and KJVB (Karan Johar and Varun Bhal) and worked in middle east countries clientele in womens wear.

With this varied understanding of the industry, academic and domain knowledge she believes in sensitizing students to understand the relevance of design globally. She has been actively involved with academic projects and courses revolv- ing around Garment Construction, Craft Studies, sustainable design, ready to wear, surface & print development, home furnishing and interiors, different design software’s etc.
