Ms. Jigyasa Arya
Ms. Jigyasa Arya is an apparel and textile designer by education and a design educator by profession. She is currently serving as a Senior Design Instructor at NID Madhya Pradesh, in the Department of Foundation Studies. She is a Fashion Design graduate from NIFT Kangra and a Textile Design postgraduate from NID Ahmedabad, with a semester exchange programme at Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. She has also pursued a certificate course in Basic Photography from Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, reflecting her interest in multidisciplinary creative exploration.
Curious and observant by nature, she is deeply drawn to aesthetics, colour, material exploration, and fashion styling. Her design approach emphasizes the balance between conceptual thinking and hands-on experimentation, encouraging a holistic understanding of design as both a process and an experience. With over seven years of professional experience spanning design education and industry practice, she has developed a strong foundation in visual sensibilities, surface development, product realisation, and creative direction. Her exposure to both academic and professional environments has honed her ability to bridge artistic exploration with functional design outcomes, fostering meaningful learning experiences for her students. Her past work includes engagements across luxury, couture, and export-based design projects, where she gained a deep understanding of craftsmanship, detailing, and contemporary design narratives.
During her academic journey, she received recognition at various design competitions — including the World Skills Competition (primary stage at college level), Fashion Olympiad at NIFT Kangra, and Enamour Lingerie Design Contest, where she consistently ranked among the top participants.
