The Narmada river is the oldest river in India and the longest in Madhya Pradesh. The Tapti river runs parallel to Narmada. Both of them together are responsible for providing drainage to almost a quarter of the whole state. All the rivers here flow from South to North, surprisingly!

Bhopal: City of Lakes
Bhopal is also known as the “City of Lakes”; its name is a derivation of Bhoj Tal (“Bhoj’s Lake”), a lake constructed by Bhoj, a Hindu raja, in the 11th century. Today that lake is the Upper Bhopal Lake (Bada Talab), which is connected to the Lower Bhopal Lake (Chhota Talab) by an aqueduct. It is also one of the greenest & cleanest cities in India.

Taj-ul-Masajid is a mosque situated in Bhopal, India. The name is also spelt as Taj-ul-Masjid. “Masajid” means “mosques” (Plural of “masjid”) and “Taj-ul-Masajid” literally means “Crown Among Mosques”. It is the largest mosque in India and one of the largest mosques in Asia’s.

The park which is more popularly known as just “Van Vihar” is considered as a “must see” destination for tourists visiting Bhopal. It is an amazing world of winged creatures, free ranging ungulates and captive carnivores in the midst of greenery.
Bhopal, in its proximity, contains two UNESCO world heritage sites. One is Sanchi Stupa constructed by Ashoka. Tropic of cancer passes through there. The second is Bhimbhetka, which has caves painted back more than 5000 years ago.

Acharpura : Special Education Zone(SEZ)
Acharpura, Industrial Area is situated near Bhopal & is approx. 5 Kms from National Highway (NH12). It is the only industrial area in Madhya Pradesh having dedicated Special Education Zone(SEZ). The total area of Acharpura is 146.334 hectares. Acharpura Industrial Area has been developed on a 146-hectare land. There are 154 plots in Textile Park, Acharpura, in which there is a potential for capital investment of Rs 800 crore for setting up industries. Textiles is one of the many sectors that offer investment opportunities in the state. MP is a beneficiary of mega infrastructure projects, with both North-South and East-West corridor crossing the state.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the Textile Park in Acharpura Industrial Area. CM also inaugurated Bhoomipujan and water supply line for Readymade Garments Industry in Acharpura along with Textile Park made of Rs 49 crore. Textile Park has been developed by MP Industrial Development Corporation Limited. Apart from NID MP, there are other Institutes like MSME Technology, IREL (india) Limited, Gokuldas Exports Ltd etc.
